NFL Football Betting News: Dolphins Cut Ties With Green, Booker

It didn't take long for Tuna to carve up the Fish.

Just a day after the official end of the NFL season - the light-hitting exhibition affair known as the Pro Bowl - Bill Parcells made his mark on the Miami Dolphins organization by cutting nine players, including quarterback Trent Green and wide receiver Marty Booker.

Green, 37, missed most of last season after suffering a Grade 3 concussion while trying to throw a block on Houston's Travis Johnson. It was the second serious head injury Green had suffered in two seasons. This most recent one lead many to believe that Green would simply retire rather than hang around and wait to be cut.

Booker, meanwhile, was more of a surprise release - despite a sharp decline in production in recent years. Last season, Booker had 556 receiving yards and one touchdown, but had been a mainstay in the Dolphin WR department and was seen as a solid veteran presence with good hands. Still, nobody was ignoring the fact that he'd never cracked the 1,000-yard barrier with Miami after doing so twice earlier in his career with Chicago.

Among the other notable Miami cuts were tackles L.J Shelton and Joe Toledo and defensive tackle Keith Traylor.
