NFL Football Betting: Philadelphia Eagles at Carolina Panthers

The 2-point favored Philadelphia Eagles will kick off the 2009 NFL regular season with a road game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles’ success lies in the health of RB Brain Westbrook and how well QB Donovan McNabb performs. McNabb has weapons in the wideout position as second year WR DeSean Jackson is coming off a productive season with 62 catches for 912 yards and two TDs.

Panthers QB Jake Delhomme returns as starter and must avoid making mistakes. Delhomme passed for 15 TDs with 3,288 yards passing, but had 12 interceptions.

Carolina will need to get a good game from their talented duo in the backfield made up of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. The backs combined for over 2,300 yards in 2008 and are ready to equal or better that this season.

The Panthers are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 home games.
