NFL Free Agent Moves Update

A handful of moves were made over the weekend that could effect NFL Futures in the Bodog Sportsbook:

  • The Pittsburgh Steelers locked up starting QB Ben Roethlisberger until possibly the end of his career, locking up the fourth-year QB for eight years and $102 miilion contract that includes $36 million in guaranteed money.
  • The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to RB Warrick Dunn's wishes, releasing the 11-year veteran after signing free agent Michael Turner to six-year deal. Rumors are that Dunn is looking to reunite with his former coach from Tampa Bay - Tony Dungy - in Indianapolis.
  • The Denver Broncos have added a new linebacker to their defense, ex-Seahawk Niko Koutouvides.
  • The Tennessee Titans have finally gotten QB Vince Young a reliable target on offense securing tight end Alge Crumpler to a two-year contract. Crumpler was a four-time pro bowler as the safety valve for Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons.
  • According to ESPN.com the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms on a trade that would send defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals for Cincinnati's fourth- and fifth-round picks in the upcoming draft, according to league sources.
  • Former New England Patriot Randall Gay has signed a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints worht up to 17.6 million.
