Jim Fassel has been looking for a head coaching job since being let go by the New York Giants, and it appears he's close to getting that position.

According to ESPN.com Fassel met with Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder for the second time about the vacated head coaching position. The Redskins have been looking for a replacement for former coach Joe Gibbs.

Fassel was coach of the New York Giants from '97-'03, was able to lead them to a Super Bowl in 2000 (where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens), but the team struggled in the 2003 season and was fired after that.

He was offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens from '04 to '06 until he was let go by Brian Billick due to him being more interested in finding another head coaching job rather than focussing on his O.C. duties.
