NFL Odds: Cardinals Waive Matt Leinart

Matt Leinart's career has officially hit bottom. The Arizona Cardinals dropped the former USC star Saturday morning.
"In fairness to Matt, I think that it would be a tough position for him to be in a backup role," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "Maybe a fresh start for him is what would be a good thing, for all of us."
Leinart was the Cardinals' No. 10 pick in the 2006 NFL draft, a move perceived as a steal by management and then head coach Dennis Green. Leinart even flashed elite ability in the classic "the bears are who we thought they were!" game on Monday Night Football, but that would be the only time he would shine in his Cardinals career.
When the Cardinals hired Whisenhunt, Leinart never appeared comfortable with his system, meanwhile veteran QB Kurt Warner ran away with the job.
The good news for bettors is his release shouldn't affect NFL Odds. Leinart will likely be a backup if/when he is signed to a new team and current Arizona starter Derek Anderson has proven at least capable of equaling Leinart's offensive output.
The question remains if any team wants to sign him. Arizona's asking price for Leinart via trade was just a seventh-round draft pick and they found no buyers.
