The quarterback situation for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was more confusing than the team's end to last year’s regular season. Now things are a bit more defined, after the Bucs dealt backup quarterback Luke McCown to Jacksonville. Tampa opens the season against the Dallas Cowboys and are currently listed as 6-point home underdogs.
Week 1 has the Miami Dolphins traveling away from the sunshine to head north for a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta looks to retake hold of the NFC South in 2009. Last year, Matt Ryan and Michael Turner led the Falcons to an 11-5 record. Currently the Falcons are pegged as 4-point home faves.
The Carolina Panthers open at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 2-point underdog Panthers might have to use an inexperienced player to return punts in the season opener. Last year's return man, Mark Jones, failed a physical yesterday.
