NFL Sunday Recap: Browns Win Snowy Slugfest

They can win in high-scoring games, and now apparently they can win grind-em-out affairs too.
In a game that was crucial for AFC Playoff implications, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Buffalo Bills 8-0 as a severe storm pounded the Lake Erie shoreline with heavy snow and swirling winds.
The temperature was 30 degrees at kickoff, and with wind gusts hitting 40 mph, Browns Stadium was transformed into a super-sized snow globe. Unable to get any traction, players slipped and slid all over the field and officials had difficulty spotting the ball in the blustery conditions. Punts and passes were adventures as anything not grounded was quickly blown off-target.
Two Phil Dawson field goals and a safety (Bills punter Brian Moorman muffed a snap and kicked the ball out of his own endzone) were all the scoring as both teams never got going on offense. The win moves Cleveland (9-5) into a tie for the AFC North lead while Buffalo (7-7) is now on the outside looking in.
In other NFL action:
- Green Bay 33, St. Louis 14: Brett Favre threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, eclipsing Dan Marino to become the NFL career leader in yards passing. Greg Jennings and Donald Lee caught scoring passes and kicker Mason Crosby was 4-for-4 from 44, 50, 25 and 46 yards. Steven Jackson was the lone bright spot for the Rams, running for 146 yards and a TD.
