NFL Week 11 Odds & Key RB Injuries: Bettors Beware

An usually large amount of key injuries this week to report, so we just stuck to the bevy of starting running backs who are either out or may not play:

Ronnie Brown, RB, Miami Dolphins: Brown's season is over after he was hurt in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He was placed on season-ending IR on Wednesday with a foot injury. Brown rushed for 648 yards on a 4.4 average and was the key guy in the Fins' Wildcat package. This means Ricky Williams will start Thursday against the Panthers and that it's likely that Miami doesn't use the Wildcat as often – or uses rookie Pat White more often in order to keep the formation. The Dolphins are 3-point dogs on Bodog's NFL odds at Carolina.

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Carolina Panthers: Williams is listed as questionable for Thursday's game with Miami and didn't practice Wednesday. However, Williams played in Week 10 after being listed as questionable and missing practice on Friday. Backup Jonathan Stewart is also listed as questionable, but it's thought he will play. Carolina is -3 on Bodog's NFL odds.

Brian Westbrook, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Westbrook suffered his second concussion in three weeks during Sunday's loss to the Chargers. Not only is he out this week at the Bears, but Westbrook's season and possibly career might be in jeopardy. The Eagles will start rookie LeSean McCoy this Sunday; he had only three carries for five yards against San Diego. Philly is still a 3-point favorite on Bodog's NFL odds at Chicago. The Bears beat the Eagles 24-20 last year in the Windy City, a game Westbrook also missed.

Cedric Benson, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Benson left Sunday's win over the Steelers with a hip flexor injury and hasn't yet practiced this week. He had just 22 yards on seven carries Sunday but is still sixth in the NFL in rushing yards. Benson thinks he will be able to play this Sunday against Oakland, but he might be a game-time decision at best. If he can't go, rookie Bernard Scott, who rushed for 33 yards on 13 carries against Pittsburgh, would get his first start. The Bengals are 10-point favorites on Bodog's NFL odds against Oakland, which has one of the worst rush defenses in the league.

Michael Turner, RB, Atlanta Falcons: Turner suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to Carolina and has yet to practice this week. Turner is officially day-to-day but won't rule himself out. Most reports say he is a near lock to sit out at least this week's game at the Giants – there is on line yet on Bodog's NFL odds. This would be a significant loss, as Turner had averaged 9.1 yards per carry over his past 47 carries. Seldom-used Jason Snelling would likely start because normal No. 2 RB Jerious Norwood also is likely out.

Julius Jones, RB, Seattle Seahawks: Jones has been ruled out of   Sunday's game at the Vikings after bruising a lung in Week 10. Justin Forsett will start in his place, and he had a big game when Jones went out this past Sunday against the Cardinals, rushing for 123 yards on 17 carries with a TD and catching five passes for 26 yards. Seattle is +11 on Bodog's NFL odds at Minnesota.
