NFL Week 9 Odds: Key Injuries to Know About Before You Bet

Sunday is just a couple of days away, but here are a few important injuries you should be aware of before placing those NFL bets on Bodog for this week's NFL games:

Jake Delhomme, QB, Carolina Panthers: Delhomme, who leads the NFL in interceptions, finished watching last Sunday's 34-21 upset in Arizona from a hospital room with a chest contusion. But Delhomme says he will play Sunday at New Orleans – there is no line yet for this game on Bodog's NFL odds. Delhomme wasn’t exactly great against the Cards, but he didn’t throw an interception for the first time all year. He was 7-of-14 for 90 yards.

Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona Cardinals: Boldin hasn't been 100 percent all season with hamstring and ankle injuries, and he had to leave Sunday's loss to Carolina early. Boldin has just one TD catch this year. He says he wants to play Sunday in Chicago, but the team might hold him out a week to let him heal up – coach Ken Whisenhunt says that’s a real option. Arizona, which is unbeaten on the road this year, is +3 on Bodog's NFL odds.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, and Donald Driver, WR, Green Bay Packers: The Pack have what could certainly be a trap game at Tampa Bay on Sunday, as Green Bay comes off a hugely hyped game with the Vikings and the Bucs come off a bye week. Rodgers has nagging injuries on both feet and may miss some practice time this week but expects to start. He has been sacked a league-high 31 times. Driver took a big hit against the Vikings and has a sore neck, but Green Bay's No. 2 WR says he will start against the Bucs, who are +10 on Bodog's NFL odds.

Owen Daniels, TE, Houston Texans: Houston is finally starting to play to its potential, but the Texans lost Daniels for the season to a torn knee ligament in Sunday's win over Buffalo. Daniels, an All-Pro caliber tight end, has 40 receptions for 519 yards and a team-leading five touchdowns this season. He'll be replaced by Joel Dreessen when the Texans play at Indianapolis on Sunday.   The unbeaten Colts are -9 ½ on Bodog's NFL odds.

Joe Staley, OT, and Nate Clements, DB, San Francisco 49ers: Staley, who protects QB Alex Smith's blindside, has a sprained knee and will miss up to six weeks, while Clements, the Niners' top cover corner heading into the season, has a broken right shoulder blade and is out up to two months. Actually, Clements had lost his starting job to Tarell Brown for Sunday's game at Indy, so Staley's loss will hurt more. The 49ers have lost three in a row but are -4 on Bodog's NFL odds Sunday at home to Tennessee.

Ryan Harris, OT, Denver Broncos: Harris, who is Denver's starting right tackle, suffered two dislocated toes in the Broncos' 30-7 loss to Baltimore last week and has already been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pass protection was a major problem for Denver against the Ravens and probably will be against Pittsburgh as well. The Broncos have opened as 3-point home dogs on Bodog's NFL odds.

Brian Westbrook, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Westbrook sat out Sunday's win over the Giants with a concussion but is expected to play this week in a big game with Dallas. He will return to practice on Wednesday. Without Westbrook, the Eagles had their most productive rushing day of the season as tailback LeSean McCoy and Leonard Weaver combined for 157 yards on 19 carries as well as two touchdowns against New York. Sunday's night's game with the Cowboys is for first in the NFC East – there is no line yet on Bodog for this game.

Nearly half the Colts defense: It was a crushing week for Indianapolis, which is on a 16-game regular-season winning streak. The Colts lost three key defenders for the season: safety Bob Sanders, linebacker Tyjuan Hagler and cornerback Marlin Jackson. Out for up to a month is cornerback Kelvin Hayden. Sanders, the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year, is obviously the biggest blow. He had only played in two games this season after recovering from offseason knee surgery but tore his biceps in Sunday’s close win over the 49ers. Indy hosts Houston on Sunday and has never lost to the Texans at home and is 13-1 all-time against them. But look for this line to be moving toward Houston in a big way now.
