NHL Betting News: Islanders' Simon Suspended Record 30 Games

Noted enforcer and repeat offender Chris Simon was banned 30 games on Wednesday, drawing the longest suspension in NHL history...again.

The Islanders confirmed the league's suspension for Simon's latest infraction, committed when he stepped on Pittsburgh's Jarkko Ruutu with his skate during a game last weekend.

Simon missed the first five games of this season while completing a 25-game ban handed out in March for a violent stick-swinging incident involving the Rangers' Ryan Hollweg. That was the previous modern-day record for an NHL suspension. This is the seventh time in Simon's career that he has been suspended.

Tonight, the Islanders are +110 home underdogs as they host the Buffalo Sabres at Nassau Coliseum. Get all your NHL Betting Lines in the Bodog Sportsbook today!
