With Ryan Miller expected to be in net again, the Buffalo Sabres may also have their captain back when they host the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
NHL hockey betting odds have the Sabres listed as -220 home favorites.
Miller has been particularly tough over his last five games, posting a 1.40 GAA. He allowed one goal over the last two contests despite his captain, Craig Rivet, being absent in those games.
Rivet has been missing from Buffalo’s blue line since suffering a leg injury in a 4-2 win at Philadelphia on Friday night. He made it through a full practice Wednesday, and coach Lindy Ruff said Rivet will be a game-time decision.
Montreal needs somebody to step up offensively. The Canadiens have scored four goals during their current skid.
Brian Gionta scored on an assist from Scott Gomez in overtime to give Montreal a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Oct. 3.
