NHL Hockey Odds: Calgary Flames at Edmonton Oilers

The only time in Calgary Flames history that they've won their first four games was the 1993-94 season. They have a chance to duplicate that mark Thursday when they make their second trip to Edmonton this season to face the Oilers.
The good news for Calgary and their backers is a three-game winning streak. The bad news is that the Flames are not clicking on all cylinders, especially defensively and especially in the third period.
In Tuesday's 4-3 win over Montreal, Calgary was outshot 30-28. It's been that way all three games this season. Just as disturbing is that the Flames have surrendered 45 shots in the third period while firing only 21 on opposing nets.
The Oilers pounded Calgary from the opening faceoff until the final buzzer Saturday, showing the kind of intensity and aggression Edmonton fans have been seeking for years.
Calgary won the first meeting 4-3.
