Vancouver has key contributors Roberto Luongo (groin) and Sami Salo (rib) out of the lineup, and they’re hoping that those two can get healthy and team up with newly-signed Mats Sundin for a big playoff push.

Vancouver heads into Friday’s game at 19-13-3 on the season, and one point behind the Calgary Flames for first place in the Northwest. The Canucks will be trying to forget their last outing, as they fell 5-0 to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. Cory Schneider gave up five goals on just 15 shots before getting pulled in that game.

The Oilers sit in last place in the Northwest at 15-14-3 on the season, but they’re coming off a 4-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. Edmonton and Vancouver have already played three times this season, with the home team winning each time. In their most recent matchup the Canucks picked up a   4-2 win in Vancouver on December 17, with Daniel Sedin picking up two goals and Curtis Sanford stopping 22 of 24 shots.
