The Columbus Blue Jackets try to open with back-to-back wins for the first time in franchise history tonight when they visit the Vancouver Canucks, who are off to their worst start in eight years.

When betting on NHL odds, know that the Blue Jackets are 5-1 in the last six meetings.

Columbus’ offense came out strong in the opener, firing 39 shots on Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom. The Blue Jackets are hoping it’s a sign of things to come. Last season, they were tied for 21st in the league in shots on goal with an average of 28.9 and had 39 shots or more in just four games.

Like the Blue Jackets, the Canucks also have done a good job of creating scoring opportunities, but they couldn’t find the back of the net in Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Colorado.

Vancouver is 11-2-3 all-time at home against the Blue Jackets.
