Evgeni Malkin put Pittsburgh ahead for good by scoring twice in the third period of his first three-goal playoff performance as the Penguins beat the Hurricanes 7-4 Thursday night.
The Hurricanes will host Game 3 on Saturday night and will need to find a way to slow down both Sidney Crosby and Malkin. Good luck with that.
The Hurricanes have come back before to win a series. Carolina trailed Montreal 2-0 in a second-round series in 2006 but came back to win four straight en route to the Stanley Cup title.
The Penguins won the first two games at home for the fourth time in six playoff rounds, dating to last season.
The home team is 11-2 in the last 13 meetings between these clubs. Get your NHL odds with Bodog today.
