On Wednesday, March 5 in Tokyo, Japan, Bodog Fight welterweight champion Nick "The Goat" Thompson (36-9-1) extended his impressive winning streak to 11 fights in a row, taking out Brazilian Fabricio Monteiro (16-8-0) at World Victory Road: Sengoku.
Now unbeaten in nearly twp years, "The Goat" won the fight by unanimous decision.
"Fabricio was much tougher than I expected," he writes. "He has the best jiu-jitsu for MMA that I have ever gone against. Every time I would get something going he would use it to throw me off."
Still, despite the skill of his opponent, Thompson says the decision win was well deserved.
"Fabricio controlled the fight," he explains. "But I took advantage anytime I got an opportunity and was not just more aggressive but caused more damage."
In other action, Josh Barnett (21-5-0) beat judo fighter Hidehiko Yoshida (7-6-1) in the main event.
