Cinderella is a Saint.
Siena became the second 13 seed to win Friday as it upset No. 4 Vanderbilt in the opening round of March Madness. Kenny Hasbrouck lit up the stat sheet with a game-high 30 points as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champs shocked the SEC power, 83-62, in Tampa, Fla.
The Saints were never behind in the game and easily beat the point spread, which favored the Commodores by seven. Tay Fisher ripped the nets for 19 points, hitting all six of his three-point attempts in the Midwest Region contest.
Siena did it to Vanderbilt on both ends of the floor, limiting SEC player of the year Shan Foster to just 13 points. The Saints advance to face either Villanova or Clemson.
Earlier in the day, No. 13 San Diego beat No. 4 Connecticut in the West Region.
