Not Dead Yet: Giants Sign David Carr

To say David Carr is a broken quarterback isn't too much of a stretch. Two disastrous stints in Houston and Carolina have left the former 1st overall pick a shadow of the player many expected him to be after a storied college career at Fresno State.
Apparently, the New York Giants must think there's still something left in Carr's tank. Because the reigning Super Bowl champs signed Carr to a one year, $1 million contract with incentives that could increase the overall value of the deal.
What makes this signing interesting is that Chris Palmer - the current Giants assistant coach - worked extensively with Carr while the pair were in Houston. Carr hopes that Palmer can work on his mechanics and overall style of play at the QB position to help him become a solid option behind Eli Manning.
Last season in Carolina, Carr posted forgettable numbers: 635 yards and three touchdowns with five interceptions. He was eventually replaced by 3rd-stringer Matt Moore.
