Casey Blake's three-run double in the eighth inning was the key to the hometown Cleveland Indians' 10-8 win over the Chicago White Sox at the newly named Progressive Field, formerly Jacobs Field.
The game was a wild affair with the teams combining for five home runs, two by White Sox slugger Jim Thome.
Jermaine Dye also went yard for Chicago while Grady Sizemore and Franklin Gutiérrez homered for the Indians.
Cleveland scored seven runs in the bottom of the second to lead 7-2 before Chicago clawed back to tie it in the seventh. But the Indians weren't to be denied and added three in the bottom of the eighth.
