PGA Golf Betting: Odds to Win Phoenix Open

OK, still no Tiger Woods but there's still golf to be played. (AP Images)
Tiger Woods still has more important things on his mind than golf, so there’s been precious little coverage of the PGA Tour this year. Great news for handicappers: It’s a soft market out there for this week’s Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Ariz. Phil Mickelson sits unopposed atop the odds board at 7-1; his closest competitor is Geoff Ogilvy at 18-1. Mickelson (an Arizona State alum) is the local favorite and the 2005 champion, but his best result in three events this year was eighth place at Pebble Beach.
Ogilvy started the 2010 season with a victory at the SBS Championship in Hawaii, but landed in 17th place at last week’s WGC Accenture match-play event. Ian Poulter (25-1) took first place for his first ever win on the PGA Tour. Watch out as well for two-time Phoenix Open champion J.B. Holmes at 20-1. It’s the only event Holmes has ever won on Tour.
