With a shot at the Big East Conference Championships hanging in the balance, the Providence Friars came ready to play. They pulled off another upset over their Big East rival Connecticut 85-76.
Guard Weyinmi Efejuku led the way for the Friars with 25 points off 8-16 shooting while guard Jeff Xavier had 21. The two combined for six of the Friars seven three pointers.
The Friars were also solid on defense, holding the Huskies to just 39.4 percent shooting from the field.
Providence beat UConn despite being 5.5-point underdogs at home, they had already upset the Huskies earlier in the year by beating them 77-65 on Jan. 17.
