Randy Couture Talks UFC Lawsuit on ESPN
Randy Couture went on ESPN to talk about his problems with the UFC.
Instead of fighting for the UFC, heavyweight champion Randy Couture (16-8-0) has started fighting with them. In an interview on ESPN, Couture talks about his reasons for leaving the octagon and the lawsuit filed against him by his former employers.
" Zuffa felt that, not my fight contract, but my employment contract was breached because I cornered some of the fighters that train at my school at other shows," he says. "There's really no merit in that. I'm not sure what they're trying to do, but they're certainly not trying to bring me back to the UFC."
Couture says he chose to leave the UFC for many reasons, but mainly because of his desire to fight another top-ranked heavyweight.
"The one fight I'm interested in is the Fedor Emelianenko fight," Couture explains, "and they can't make that happen, so I have to try to make it happen on my own."
