For the world  No. 1 male tennis player, Sunday's victory over Andy Murray (6-3, 6-4, 7-6) marks Roger Federer's 16th Grand Slam victory and his fourth Australian Open win. And for the world No. 1 female tennis player, Saturday's (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) win over Justine Henin is Serena Williams' fifth Australian Open singles title and 12th Grand Slam victory. If anyone had any doubt as to whether or not Federer or Williams still has what it takes, those doubts have now been put to rest.

"I always knew I had something special, but I didn't know it was that crazy," Federer said. "I definitely had to work extremely hard so I would pick the right shot at the right time. I always knew I had it in my hands. The question is do I have it in my mind and in my legs. Now I feel like obviously I'm being pushed a great deal by the new generation coming up. When I came on tour, matches were played very differently. It was more of a bluff game, guys serving well, but there was always a weakness you could go to. Today that doesn't exist anymore. That's also thanks to guys like Murray. They've made me a better player, because I think this has been one of my finest performances in a long time, or maybe forever."

More fun Federer stats: He turned pro in 1998 and his career prize money to date is an impressive US $53,414,588.
More winsome Williams' stats: She turned pro in1995 and to date has won US $28,560.093 in career prize money.
