Seahawks Close to Cutting Alexander

According to KJR950 in Seattle, the Seattle Seahawks are close to cutting 2005-06 MVP Shaun Alexander.

Head coach Mike Holmgren recently had a meeting with Alexander but the discussion between the two has remained confidential.

Holmgren did say however that Alexander cannot be released at this time even if they wanted to because he's still injured.

"Shaun Alexander has not been released," 'Hawks president Tim Ruskell told The News Tribune reporters. But when pressed if he could be cut him the future the answer was simply "Shaun Alexander has not been released."

The Seahawks have seemingly prepared for the cut by signing former Cowboy Julius Jones and former Lion T.J. Duckett.
