Selection Sunday has come and gone and the 2010 NCAA Tournament Bracket is set. Three conference winners—Kansas, Kentucky and Duke—were each awarded a No. 1 seed. Syracuse was the final top seed, but the Orange are in somewhat of a panic after a tough couple of days; they failed to take care of business in the Big East and lost center Arinze Onuaku to a leg injury. He’s expected to miss Friday’s game with Vermont.
Several familiar championship contenders failed to make the cut. Connecticut, UCLA, Arizona and, most notably, North Carolina—last year’s National Champion—will be watching games on television like the rest of us.
The play-in game takes place Tuesday, with Winthrop and Arkansas-Pine Bluff going head-to-head. Then the flurry of March Madness truly begins on Thursday.
