To every tennis fan out there who was hoping to see Venus Williams triumph over Serena for the women's singles title, what can I say? Youth prevails. And so on Saturday Serena beat Venus 7-6 (3), 6-2 to take her third Wimbledon championship.

"I didn’t think about Venus at all today. I just saw her as an opponent," said Serena on beating her big sister. "At one point, after the first set, I looked on the side of the court at the stats, and it was like 'Williams,' 'Williams.' I couldn't figure out which was which."

And where was dad during the match? He wasn't among the 15,000 or so in attendance that much is known. While mom sat in her seat watching both daughters play, dad (Richard Williams) had already bolted from the scene. Rumor has it he can't stand to watch his daughters play each other.
