Shaquille O'Neal only played 14 minutes on Thursday night, but Amare Stoudamire more than picked up the slack and helped the Phoenix Suns beat the high-flying Golden State Warriors 123-115.

Stoudamire dropped 36 points, making 13 of 21 shots while grabbing 11 rebounds, and Steve Nash was the second-leading scorer with 21 points and 13 assists.

Things didn't look good for the Suns at halftime. They were down 62-57, O'Neal was in foul trouble and the team had already been given four technicals. But they outscored the Warriors 38-22 in the third quarter and kept them at bay the rest of the way.

Warriors point guard Baron Davis was on fire in a losing cause, he had 38 points and shot 50 percent from the field.

With the eight-point win, the Suns covered the 7.5-point spread.
