Super Bowl Betting: Arizona Cardinals, Anatomy of an Underdog

It is not quite the same as last season's matchup between the Patriots and Giants, but if the Arizona Cardinals can pull off the upset today it will end a shocking run that few could have predicted.

The Cards conquered a joke of a division in the regular season, and heading into the postseason few gave them a shot.

Then they started by knocking off the Falcons, shutting down Michael Turner and Matt Ryan. If that did not force people to take notice, a shocking win over the Carolina Panthers certainly did.

Still they were underdogs in their next game against the Eagles despite being at home. The Cardinals did it again by knocking off Philly and advancing to the Super Bowl for the first time.

So even though Vegas says so, are they really the underdog? Based on their climb to the big game, the Cardinals prefer it that way.
