Super Bowl Odds: Plaxico Burress Sharper In Giants' Final Practice

The New York Giants got good news as they ran through their final practice Saturday afternoon in preparation for Super Bowl XLII. Leading receiver Plaxico Burress looked stronger and sharper than he has all week.
Burress had made more noise in the lead up to the big game for predicting the Giants would pull a 23-17 upset of the New England Patriots than for anything he’d done on the practice field. Bothered by a sore knee and a ligament tear in his ankle, Burress was listed as questionable heading into the weekend. It now appears he will play and will be a key element to any success Eli Manning has in the passing game.
“He gets a little bit better each day, and hopefully, we’ll be able to have some further improvement tomorrow,” New York coach Tom Coughlin told reporters about Burress’ performance after the 50-minute workout.
The Patriots didn’t practice Saturday. Their final run through took place on Friday and their main injury concern, Tom Brady’s ankle, was eliminated. The MVP quarterback looked solid during the practice session.
Unbeaten New England is favored by 11.5 on the point spread as it goes for the NFL’s first 19-0 season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (Fox, BodogLIVE) Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
