The latest chapter in the storied rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan college football didn't involve a game; it was a player they were fighting over. Specifically, high school quarterback Terrelle Pryor, a 6-foot-5-inch, 235-pounder who wasn't ready to make his decision on where to play his college ball back on Signing Day in February.
Today, he chose... drum roll, please... Ohio State. Yes, Terrelle Pryor will be a Buckeye.
"It was just the right fit," Pryor told Rivals.com. "The coaches, the comfort level, the players and the signing class they had. I am very comfortable with all of it, and I became friendly with the other recruits throughout the process.
"But in the end it came down to what was right for me. And after a lot of thinking, talking and consideration, it came down to Ohio State."
Pryor has no intention on redshirting and wants to compete for the starting job right away, even though he understands that might be difficult.
Just how good could Pryor be? Pretty good, according to the experts.
"The sky's the limit to athleticism," said Tom Luginbill, the national football recruiting coordinator for Scouts, Inc. "He draws comparisons to Vince Young who can save a play on the run and has the ability to improvise."
