The Tide is High: Alabama Wins BCS Championship

Texas QB Colt McCoy was taken out of the biggest game of his career with a shoulder injury and the Longhorns rallied hard in the second half to come close, but Alabama did everything it could to maintain the lead -- and win. (AP Images).
When Alabama lineman Marcell Dareus knocked out Texas QB Colt McCoy early in the game, Longhorn fans had to know that their odds of winning the BCS National Championship were slim to none.
2010 BCS National Championship Final Score:
Alabama Crimson Tide 37, Texas Longhorns 21
Give credit to Texas backup QB Garrett Gilbert, who then came in when the team was down 24-6 and succeeded in taking a good-sized bite out of that Alabama lead and brought the Longhorns to within 3 points of the Tide with 6 1/2 minutes left in the game.
But from then on in it was all Alabama, with Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram scoring a touchdown and then Trent Richardson picked up his second touchdown on the night to give the Crimson Tide a 37-21 lead and the win.
Nick Saban becomes the first coach in NCAA history to take two different schools -- LSU and now Alabama -- to the BCS National Championship and win.
