Tiger Woods Breaks from Golf, John Daly Returns in Style

Tiger Woods is leaving golf to be with his wife and family. John Daly, on the other hand, has cleaned up his act, lost a ton of weight, and is focused on winning this weekend's Australian PGA Championship. (AP Images)

Say what you will about the man, but Tiger Woods has now admitted to cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren, and in a public plea posted on his website -- he's asking everyone to leave his wife and his children the hell alone so that they can heal and deal with what has transpired over the past week. Tiger also wrote that he is taking an "indefinite break from professional golf" so that he can focus on being a "better husband, father, and person."

Here is Tiger Woods' complete apology and request for privacy:

"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.

"I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

"Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period."

Other women will likely come forward, saying that they also slept with Tiger Woods. And you have to know that there are at least a couple of wenches out there just waiting for all of this to die down and for Tiger to make amends with his wife...before coming out with a bomb, something crazy like, "Tiger Woods got me pregnant and he is the father of my only child." Or, "Tiger Woods raped me and I have the video tape to prove it!"

Take your mind off Tiger Woods. Look at John Daly, for Pete's sake. Now here's a guy who turned his life around and is doing something good with his golf game. Dude lost 105 pounds!! Daly is playing in this weekend's Australian PGA Championship and although he has been supporting Woods throughout this week's events, he is focused on his game.
