Tigers Drop to 2-10; Old Man Leyland Gets Pissed

The Detroit Tigers are not a good baseball team right now. They've won two of their first 10 games. They've scored a MLB-low 33 runs. They've allowed a MLB-high 78 runs.
They're already 5.5 games out of first place in the AL Central. And now, manager Jim Leyland has seen enough.
"There was one thing that sticks out to me right now that's going on, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back," Leyland told the Associated Press after Sunday's 11-0 drubbing at the hands of the White Sox. While he declined to reveal what that straw was, Leyland continued on his rant. "Where we're at makes sense because that's the way we've played. It's not surprising that we're 2-10. We've been shut out four times... I didn't think we'd get shut out four times all year."
The hitting hasn't been great, but the pitching hasn't been very good either. Veteran hurler Kenny Rogers has been brutal, with an 0-3 record that included getting shelled Sunday against Chicago.
The Tigers start a series against Central rivals Minnesota tonight at Comerica Park. Jeremy Bonderman will get the nod for the Tigers (-1.5, +135) while Nick Blackburn will go for the Twins (+1.5, +125). The total for tonight's game is set at 8.5 runs.
