A pro-life commercial starring Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother will appear during the Super Bowl next month and controversy over the ad has been circulating via the media. Tebow will appear in a pro-life ad produced by the Christian group "Focus on the Family," a group  that aims to "strengthen, defend and celebrate the institution of the traditional family."    The group says the  Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad will center around the theme “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.”

Tebow's mother Pam Tebow was advised by doctors to abort Tim when she was  pregnant with him, due to health reasons. She ignored the advice and well,  now she's got a college football quaterback on her hands.  Women's groups are now  protesting the Super Bowl  ad, which they say promotes an anti-abortion agenda, arguing  that controversial advertisments that  promote religious or political views should not be aired during the Super Bowl.

"An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year - an event designed to bring Americans together,” said Jehmu Greene, president of the New York-based Women’s Media Center.

So far CBS is standing behind the ad, saying that the Tim Tebow Super Bowl ad has been given preliminary approval to air during the Super Bowl, which is just two weeks away. A Facebook Group already has  5,000 friends - and so far, no one has seen the ad. What do you think? Should controversial topics like this one be banned from getting Super Bowl air time?
