According to the Ohio Athletic Commission, UFC champion Anderson Silva (23-4-0) was paid $140,000 for beating Dan Henderson (22-7-0) in the main event of UFC 82: Pride of a Champion, March 1 in Columbus, Ohio.
In the United States, promoters are required by law to submit salary information to State Athletic Commissions for public record.
Henderson, who lost by choke in the second round, earned $100,000 and would have earned another $150,000 had he won the fight.
The highest paid athlete was former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (12-5-0) who took home $170,000 for KO'ing Jake O'Brien (10-1-0). The fight was the last on Arlovski's contract with the UFC. Leaving with a win, he hits the open market as a hot commoditty.
Heavyweight Heath Herring (28-13-0) earned $140,000 for his split decision win over Cheick Kongo (11-4-1), who was paid $30,000.
Henderson and Silva each earned an additional $60,000 for "Fight of the Night", while Chris Leben (18-4-0) earned the same amount for "Knockout of the Night".
