The champion fought a smart fight against a dangerous opponent, much to the displeasure of the crowd and his fans who have become spoiled watching him destroy opponents in a round and a half over the last few years.

UFC 97 will be known for the day that Chuck Liddell’s career in the Octagon ended after a much more motivated Mauricio Rua knocked him out in the first round. Liddell will have to fight outside the UFC if he wants to continue to compete.
