Unfathomable March Madness Picks and Predictions

With the Tournament barely a week away, let’s run through a few unfathomable March Madness picks and predictions and if they’re likely to occur this season:

Five powerhouses fail to make the cut. Unfathomable”¦ but it’s probably going to happen. Arizona, Connecticut, Indiana, North Carolina and UCLA are all in great danger of missing the Tournament. Likelihood: high.

All four No. 1 seeds advance to the Final Four. Since seeding began in 1979 it’s happened just nine times, most recently in 2008. And top seeds in the polls haven’t exactly performed up to expectations this season. Likelihood: very low.

A No. 16-seed will advance to the second round. Somehow, despite all the craziness of March Madness, it’s never happened. As mentioned above, though, No. 1 teams have shown some weak spots this season. Likelihood: low”¦ but this could be the year.
