Yet another group of billionaires with deep pockets are looking to make a pro football brand to compete with the NFL.

The UFL (United Football League) is set to drop in 2009 and commissioner Michael Huyghue plans on making headlines with his first move. How? Sign locked-up quarterback Michael Vick.

"Michael's not going to be able to walk right back into the NFL,'' Huyghue said. "He's going to need some kind of buffer before he signs in the NFL, and we'll be able to provide that for him.''

Will the league survive long enough to rejuvenate Vick's career? Who knows. There have been plenty of leagues (USFL, XFL) that have tried to compete with the NFL and failed miseraby.
