Although many picked the Boston Red Sox to win the World Series, no one expected the Rockies to be blown out 13-1 in Game 1.
"I'm sure there's a lot of people that are ready to hand them the trophy right now," third baseman Garrett Atkins said.
Colorado will be looking to shift momentum in the series with starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez (2-0, 1.59 ERA). The right-hander was stellar in his two previous starts in the playoffs, holding the Phillies to one run and Arizona to two in two victories.
The Rockies bats will be looking for a better outing against Red Sox starter Curt Schilling. In Game 1 they had just six hits and left runners in scoring position three times. There's been speculation the Rockies could've been rusty after an eight-day layoff.
"You can ask me all series long about the eight-day layoff and I'm not going to be able to give you an answer on that," manager Clint Hurdle said. "We're a no-excuse ball club, always have been and we're going to be. We got outplayed."
The Red Sox are -200 favorites on the moneyline for tonight's matchup. Boston faces Colorado at Fenway Park tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET on FOX.
