Worst Mixed Martial Arts Fights of 2007

According to the Chinese calendar, 2007 was the year of the boar. That makes for an easy "year of the bore" joke, but you'd have to be a fool to go there. Honestly, with matches like Couture vs. Sylvia, Gomi vs. Diaz and Liddell vs. Silva, anyone who complains about the quality of mixed martial arts in 2007 is either some fight-princess who thrives on acting unsatisfied or some brain-damaged nitwit who wouldn’t know a good fight if it snuck up and viciously heel-hooked him.
Still, even though the past year was arguably the most exciting one yet for MMA fans, there were still a few hairs in the pasta where, for whatever reason, matches fizzled and left everyone feeling strangely robbed.
Kimbo Slice vs. Bo Cantrell – Elite XC: Renegade - Nov. 10, 2007
After choking out Ray Mercer in an exhibition match, Slice was booked to fight David "Tank" Abbott in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships. Unfortunately, something went horribly wrong and the entire event was snuffed when a major sponsor backed out. Quick to pick up the pieces, Elite XC signed Slice to fight in their event but could not secure the services of "Tank." After going through a veritable Roulette wheel of opponents, last-minute replacement Bo Cantrell signed on for Slice's first professional MMA bout. He talked a good game before the fight but after the bell rang, it became quickly obvious that he was just in the cage to get a paycheck. Just 19 seconds into the fight, Cantrell fell to the mat and tapped out before Slice could land any damaging blows. It was a disgusting display that reeked of foul play.
